People who have purchased the Hitachi EC12 portable air compressor have consistently come back with good reviews of the product.  On many occasions reviewers indicated that the Hitachi EC12 air compressor was built sturdy and either outlasted several other brands or felt that they would be years before finding out as the compressor worked so well it would not need to be replaced for a long time.
